New Artist - Philip Smith
We are delighted to announce that baritone Philip Smith has joined our roster. One time zoologist and National Otter Surveyor of England, he studied at the RNCM and currently works with Robert Dean.
Recent highlights include Junius The Rape Of Lucretia for Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Reggio Emilia and Ravenna; Sid Albert Herring for the Royal Danish Opera directed by Keith Warner, Copenhagen and Harlekin Ariadne auf Naxos for Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte, Montepulciano; Rossini Petite messe solennelle at Dartington Great Hall and an Opera Gala in Taunton.
Engagements in the current season include the role of Gratiano in The Merchant of Venice (André Tchaikowsky) for Polish National Opera and Papageno in Die Zauberflöte at the Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari. Future concerts performances include Carmina Burana at the Sage Gateshead, a Wigmore Hall live broadcast on BBC Radio 3 of Schumann songs with the Prince Consort and Schubert Winterreise with pianist James Cheung at the University of Leeds International Concert Series.
