Philip Smith performs at Wigmore Hall with the Prince Consort
Philip Smith performs with the Prince Consort and Malcom Martineau on Monday 17 November at Wigmore Hall in a concert that is broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
The Prince Consort, founded and directed by Alisdair Hogarth, holds a special affection for Schumann. The composer’s songs featured in the ensemble’s acclaimed debut recital in 2003 and remain at the heart of its increasingly broad repertoire.
In their tenth year this programme of includes Schumann's Spanisches Liebeslieder and songs from Spanisches Liederspiel, Myrthen, Lieder-Album für die Jugend and Minnespiel.
Following this concert Philip flies off to Italy to start rehearsals for Papageno in Die Zaubeflöte at the Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari.
