Jeni Bern SOPRANO

Jeni Bern is a light lyric soprano of exceptional versatility. A graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and the Opera School (RCM) where she was the winner of many major awards and prizes, including the prestigious President Emerita Award.

Roles include Paquette Candide (Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris; La Scala, Milan); Zdenka Arabella, Soeur Margaretta / La Baronne Elsa The Sound of Music (Théâtre du Châtelet); Guardian of the Threshold Die Frau ohne Schatten, First Heavenly Voice Palestrina, and Blumenmädchen Parsifal (ROH); Jano Jenufa (Glyndebourne); Mabel The Pirates of Penzance, Yum Yum The Mikado and Sophie Der Rosenkavalier (ENO); Amour Orphée et Eurydice (WNO); Medea Teseo and Susanna (ETO); Eurydice Orpheus in the Underworld (Opera Holland Park); Musetta and Oscar Un ballo in Maschera (Opera Zuid): title role Deidamia and Sigismondo Arminio (London Handel Festival); Atalanta Xerxes and Dalinda Ariodante (Early Opera Company); For Opera North: Susanna, Musetta, Trixie Let 'em Eat Cake, Tytania, Gretel and La Princesse L'enfant et les sortilèges.
