Helen Johnson MEZZO SOPRANO Helen Johnson studied her Post-Graduate Advanced Diploma in Vocal Studies at Trinity College of Music with support from Malpas and Palamkote, the Joan Greenfield Trust Award and the Lloyd Scholarship. In 2008 Helen was a finalist in the Wagner Society Bayreuth Bursary Competition. She continues her vocal studies with Anne Mason and coaches with Elizabeth Rowe, Philip Thomas, Ludmilla Andrew and Kelvin Lim. Operatic roles include Madame Larina Eugene Onegin for Stanley Hall Opera, Bianca The Rape of Lucretia and Marcellina Le nozze di Figaro Opera East, Ježibaba Rusalka Iford Arts, Mrs. Goodbody / Ruth Parson's Pirates Opera della Luna, Marguerite Le Damnation de Faust Pigotts, Kolusina Jenufa, Filipyevna Eugene Onegin, Feklusha Kátya Kabanová and Clotilde Norma all for English Touring Opera. Cover roles include Hatred Armide and Boulotte Bluebeard for Buxton Festival Opera, Frugola Il tabarro and Agnes The Fantastic Mr Fox, Madame Larina Eugene Onegin, Jane Seymour Anna Bolena and Kabanicha Kátya Kabanová all for ETO. |
