Christopher Ovenden TENOR

Christopher Ovenden was born in Belfast and has a degree in German from the University of Southampton. He has been a teacher of French and German and in 1997 he went on to do the English National Opera's performance skills programme under Mary King.

Recent roles include Dr Caius Falstaff English Touring Opera, Goro Madama Butterfly, Gustavus A Masked Ball and Macduff Macbeth all for Surrey Opera. Other roles include Engineer Osud Garsington Opera, Don Basilio and Don Curzio Palace Opera, Gaston La traviata Vox Lirika and Alfred Die Fledermaus Tête à Tête. Covers include the Lawyer in English National Opera's award winning production of Punch & Judy at the Young Vic, Goro Madama Butterfly Raymond Gubbay and Scottish Opera, Guillot de Morfontaine in Manon and Valzacchi Der Rosenkavalier Scottish Opera, Distiller Maskaya Noch'Hrázda Osud and Monostatos all for Garsington Opera. Other roles include Camille Merry Widow, Spoletta Tosca, Quint and Prologue Turn of the Screw, Seller of Songs Il tabarro, Rodolfo, Don José and Ferrando.
