"Juan Carlos Valls made an excellent Des Grieux. His frank singing, his ease in the high register and above all his characterisation, made him the perfect partner for Señora Almenares. Together they formed an excellent couple as they showed in Lucia at the Teatro Argentino and then in Montevideo. He has a beautiful tone, sings with impeccable tuning and it is difficult to believe that he won't establish himself in an international career"
