Owen Gilhooly BARITONE

Owen Gilhooly is a graduate of the Royal College of Music and National Opera Studio and in 2007 represented Ireland in Cardiff Singer of the World. He is currently pursuing Doctoral studies at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. 

Roles performed include Figaro Barber of Seville, Dandini La cenerentola, Marcello La bohème, Father Hansel and Gretel, Don Fernando Fidelio and Papageno The Magic Flute all for Opera Theatre Company; Shepherd Tristan und Isolde (Wide Open Opera); Ivan Kaschey the Immortal and Bailiff's The Maiden in the Tower (Buxton Festival); King Louis XVI The Ghosts of Versailles and Lord Salt The Golden Ticket (Wexford Festival); Malatesta Don Pasquale (English Touring Opera); Albert Werther (Les Azuriales Opera) and the General Seven Angels (The Opera Group). 

He has performed with the RTÉ NSO, Ulster Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestras, the Royal Liverpool and London Philharmonic Orchestras and the BBC Symphony Orchestra - Berlioz L'enfance du Christ and The Bridegroom The Vanishing Bridegroom, and Bill Bobstay HMS Pinafore and Konecký Osud at the BBC Proms.
