Gweneth Ann Rand announced as Associate Artist at Wigmore Hall

John Gilhooly has today announced Gweneth Ann Rand as an Associate Artist at Wigmore Hall. As an Associate Artist Gweneth Ann will feature regularly in Wigmore Hall programming, with at least one concert each season over a five year term.

Her recent Wigmore Hall appearances include Messiaen's Harawi and a programme of Wagner, Messiaen and Barber, both with collaborator pianist Simon Lepper, with whom she will perform An Imperfect Tapestry, on 3 June 2021 as part of Wigmore Hall's 120th Anniversary celebrations.

Gweneth Ann Rand and Ailish Tynan to perform at Wigmore Hall

Gweneth Ann Rand and Ailish Tynan will perform as part of Wigmore Halls recently announced concert series in the run up to Easter.

2 March
Gweneth Ann Rand and Simon Lepper will perform a programme of Barber, Messiaen and Wagner.

12 March
Ailish Tynan will perform Der Hirt auf dem Felsen with Steven Osborne and Jean Johnson as part of Steven Osborne’s 50th Birthday Concert.

17 March
Ailish Tynan, Robin Tritschler and James Baillieu will perform in a special concert for St Patrick’s Day, including some of the most beloved traditional folksongs which reflect the cultural ties between the two nations. Adrian O’Neill, the Ambassador of Ireland to Great Britain, will introduce the concert with a message of friendship from the Irish government.

All concerts are available to watch online on the Wigmore Hall website and YouTube channel on the day of performance and for 30 days.

Gweneth Ann Rand performs in the Turn of the Screw

Gweneth Ann Rand performs Mrs Grose in a film version of The Turn of the Screw for OperaGlass Works. Performances were due to have taken place early in 2020 at Wilton's Music Hall, but were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Selina Cadell and Eliza Thompson have adapted their stage production for this filmed version, which is conducted by John Wilson with the Sinfonia of London.

The spine-chilling film will be available exclusively on Marquee TV from 30 January 2021.

Gweneth Ann Rand and Keel Watson to perform with Birmingham Opera Company

Gweneth Ann Rand and Keel Watson join an international cast to perform in Birmingham Opera Company's immersive new community production of Wagner's Das Rheingold, or RhineGold. Gwen, as Erda, and Keel, Fasolt.

The performances in summer 2021, directed by Graham Vick, with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Alpesh Chauhan, will take place canal-side in the 100,000 sq ft The Tubeworks on Icknield Port Loop.

Gweneth Ann Rand performs in the US premiere of 4.48 Psychosis

Gweneth Ann Rand revives her pivotal role in the US premiere of Philip Venables award winning opera 4.48 Psychosis. The acclaimed Royal Opera production, directed by Ted Huffman, first seen at the Lyric Hammersmith in 2016 is conducted by William Cole.

Performances take place from 5 to 12 January at the Baruch Performing Arts Center, New York.

Gweneth Ann Rand returns to English National Opera

Following her success as Aida for English National Opera last season, Gweneth Ann Rand returns to the London Coliseum as Serena in their critically acclaimed new production of Porgy and Bess. The productionsi directed by James Robinson and conducted by John Wilson.

She will perform the role for performances on 27, 31 October and 10 November.
