New Artist - Miranda Westcott
We are delighted to announce that mezzo-soprano Miranda Westcott has joined our roster for general management. Born in Devon, Miranda read music at Birmingham University, studied perfoming on English National Opera's "The Knack", with futher study at the GSMD and Cardiff International Academy of Voice.
Miranda made her debut at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, as Second Bridesmaid in Le nozze di Figaro under Sir Colin Davis. She went on to perform Glasha in Katya Kabanova under Sir Charles Mackerras and Jenny Diver in the Britten arrangement of The Beggar’s Opera in the Linbury Studio Theatre, which was also recorded for Chandos.
Other roles include Kate Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly at the Royal Albert Hall; Rossweise in Die Walküre and Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte for Longborough Festival Opera; Suzuki in Madama Butterfly (Opera Project & London Festival Opera); La Nourice Médée and The Drummer The Kaiser of Atlantis (Opera Up Close); Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro for Surrey Opera and Olga in Eugene Onegin at Richmond Theatre.
Engagements in the current season include Haydn Nelson Mass at the English Haydn Festival; Elgar The Dream of Gerontius at St John’s Smith Square; Suzuki Madame Butterfly for London Festival Opera.
