Ailish Tynan performs at Schloss Atzenbrugg

Ailish Tynan makes her Austrian debut, in recital at Schloss Atzenbrugg, with Robin Tritschler and James Baillieu, as part of the 2015 Danube Festival. The programme of Schubert Lieder includes the well known Gretchen am Spinnrade, as well as settings by Shakespeare and von Schober in solos and duets.

This recital marks he end of Ailish's 2014-15 seasons where highlights have included her return to Welsh National Opera as Gretel in Hansel & Gretel, her debut at Garsington Opera in Intermezzo, recitals at Wigmore Hall, guest commentator on the television boadcast of BBC Cardiff Singer of the World, a tour of Handel's Messiah with the Academy of Ancitent Music and an appearance at the BBC Proms with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

Ailish Tynan at the BBC Proms

Ailish Tynan returns to the BBC Proms on 5 August for a concert with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, conducted by Tadaaki Otaka. The Prom, British Composers, includes works by Walton, Vaughan Williams, Elgar, with Ailish performing Grace Williams' Fairest of Stars. The concert is broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.

This is Ailish's twelfth appearance at the BBC Proms, with previous highlights being a first night appearance for Chabrier's Ode à la musique with the BBC Symphony Orchestra2009; Gliere's Concerto for Coloratura Soprano with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in 2011 and Bella in Tippett's The Midsummer Marriage with the BBC Symphony Orchestra in 2013.

Ailish Tynan performs at Wigmore Hall

Ailish Tynan performs the final Saturday evening recital of the 2014/15 season at Wigmore Hall with her long time collaborator, pianist, Iain Burnside. The varied recital programme that is both musically bold and poetic includes:

Fauré - Cinq mélodies 'de Venise'
Poulenc - Fiançailles pour rire
Frishberg - Another song about Paris
Bingham - The Shadow Side of Joy Finzi: A Mad Song
Parry - Where shall he lover rest
Heggie - My name, the Snake and The farm from Eve-Song

Ailish returns to the Wigmore next season for a number of recitals with collaborators including James Baillieu, Adam Walker, Robin Tritschler, Anna Huntley and Benjamin Appl.

Ailish Tynan performs at St. Giles House

Ailish Tynan performs a varied recital programme that includes Italian Baroque though to 20th Century French and British lesser-known gems. The recital on 16 July is part of a concert series at St. Giles House, curated by Dougie Scarfe, CEO of Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Ailish is joined by her long time recital partner, pianist Iain Burnside.

The programme includes:

Fauré - Cinq mélodies 'de Venise'
Poulenc - Fiançailles pour rire
Handel - Piangerò from Giulio Cesare
Parry - Where shall he lover rest
Elgar - Pleading

The inclusion Handel and Elgar in the programme are appropriate as the 4th Earl of Shaftesbury was a patron of the composer Handel and Elgar's nostalgic Pleading, was composed for Lady Maud Warrender, sister of the 9th Earl of Shaftesbury.

Ailish Tynan performs Poulenc & Hahn at Wigmore Hall

Ailish Tynan performs a concert of Hahn and Poulenc at Wigmore Hall on Monday 22 June at 1pm, in a BBC Radio 3 Lunchtime Concert. Ailish is accompanied by acclaimed pianist, James Baillieu, in the live broadcast. The programme includes:

Hahn: Fêtes galantes; En sourdine; A Chloris
Poulenc: La courte Paille; Trois poèmes de Louise de Vilmorin
Hahn: Venezia - Chansons en dialecte vénitien

This concert is the first of two appearances for Ailish at Wigmore Hall this summer. Her second concert takes place on 25 July with pianist Iain Burnside.

Ailish Tynan returns to Cardiff Singer of the World

Ailish Tynan returns to BBC Cardiff Singer of the World as a guest commentator for the Song Prize Final. This is the second time Ailish will have appeared on the presenting team having appeared previously in 2013.

The Song Prize Final takes place on Friday 19 June and is broadcast on BBC Four on Saturday 20 June at 7:30pm.

Ailish Tynan and Sarah Redgwick debut at Garsington Opera

Ailish Tynan and Sarah Redgwick make their debut performances with Garsington Opera at Wormsley this summer in Richard Strauss' bourgeois comedy Intermezzo. Ailish performs the role of the maid, Anna and Sarah, the Notary's Wife, as well as covering the lead role of Christine. The production is directed by Bruno Ravella and conducted by Jac van Steen. 

There are nine performances that run from 6 June through to 9 July.

Ailish Tynan makes her debut with the Oxford Philomusica

In a break from rehearsals for Garsington Opera, Ailish Tynan makes her debut with the Oxford Philomusica for a performance of Haydn Mass No. 10 in C major, Hob XXII:9, ‘Paukenmesse’.

The performance, conducted by Sir András Schiff with the Christ Church Cathedral Choir, takes place at the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford on 16 May.

Ailish Tynan to perform at the BBC Proms 2015

Ailish Tynan performs at the BBC PRoms this summer with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. She will perfom Grace Williams' The Fairest of Stars in a programme that features works by Walton, Vaughan Williams & Elgar and is conducted by Tadaaki Otaka.

The concert (Prom 26: British Composers) takes place at the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday 5 August. 

Ailish is also delighted to have been invited to appear in the BBC Proms 2015 Launch Film.

Ailish Tynan tours with the Callino Quartet

Ailish Tynan performs in a series of concerts with the Callino Quartet in a six venue tour across Ireland. Ailish will perform Mozart Exsultate Jubilate and Schoenberg String Quartet No. 2.

This tour follows Ailish's most recent appearance in Ireland when she performed the final trio from Der Rosenkavalier with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra in a sell out concert at the National Concert Hall.

Ailish Tynan performs Vier letzte Lieder at the Royal Festival Hall

Ailish Tynan performs Richard Strauss' Vier letzte Lieder with the Duet Philharmonc Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall on Tuesday 31 March, under the baton of Ronald Corp.

This is the second Strauss concert Ailish has performed recently. Last week she performed the final trio from Der Rosenkavalier in Ireland with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, and in April she commences rehearsals for her debut with Garsington Opera in his bourgeois comic opera Intermezzo.

Ailish Tynan performs Mozart & Strauss at the National Concert Hall

Between performances of Hansel & Gretel for Welsh National Opera, Ailish Tynan returns to Dublin to perform with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra.

She will perform Mozart Exsultate Jubilate and Sophie in the final trio from Der Rosenkavalier by Richard Strauss, where she is joined by fellow Irish singers Celine Byrne and Tara Erraught who will sing Marschallin and Octavian, under the baton of the orchestra's principal condcutor Alan Buribayev.

Ailish Tynan performs Beethoven at the Royal Festival Hall

Ailish Tynan performs Beethoven Symphony No. 9 for Raymond Gubbay Ltd. at the Royal Festival Hall, with the Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by Andrew Greenwood. Ailish is joined by Catherine Carby, Alan Oke and Neal Davies for the choral climax of an all Beethoven concert.

Ailish Tynan performs Mahler in Bielefeld

Ailish Tynan performs Mahler Symphony No. 4 with the Hallé under Sir Mark Elder at Rudolf-Oetker-Halle in Bielefeld, Germany.

Ailish performed this work with the Hallé in 2013 in Manchester and Carlisle and last year with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Prague Symphony Orchestra.

AIlish Tynan performs Les Illuminations with Sinfonia Viva

Ailish Tynan steps in at short notice for her debut performance with Sinfonia Viva on 10 January. She will perform Britten Les Illuminations at Derby Cathedral, under the baton of the orchestra's new principal conductor Duncan Ward.

Ailish most recently performed Les Illuminations with the Irish Chamber Orchestra in December and is delighted to have this opportunity to perform this song cycle with Sinfonia Viva.

Ailish Tynan performs at the London Song Festival

Ailish Tynan performs a recital at the 2014 London Song Festival with baritone Simon Wallfisch and pianist Nigel Foster.

The programme entitled Music of a Foreign Land explores songs inspired by foreign countries by composers including Schubert, Schumann, Wolf, Hahn and Ravel, and English songs by Granville Bantock, Gustav Holst and Herbert Howells.

The concert takes place on 21 October at the Rosslyn Hill Chapel in Hampstead, London.

Ailish Tynan steps in to sing Beethoven with the Ulster Orchestra

Ailish Tynan steps in at short notice for Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with the Ulster Orchestra in the Grand Opening Concert of their 2014/15 season. The concert is conducted by the orchestras new Chief Conductor Rafaele Payare.

The concert takes place at the Ulster Hall on 19 September. 

Ailish last performed with the Ulster Orchestra in January for a series of Viennese New Year Galas with dancers Camila Dallerup and Ian Waite and in 2012 for Brahams Ein deutsches requiem

New CD release featuring Ailish Tynan & Owen Gilhooly

Ailish Tynan & Owen Gilhooly feature in a CD release of Judith Weir's opera The Vanishing Bridegroom. The recording is taken from a live perfomance at the Barbican Concert Hall in January 2008 with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Singers and is conducted by Martyn Brabbins.

The release of this recording was made possible by NMC’s 25th anniversary Opera Appeal and is produced in association with BBC Radio 3.

Ailish Tynan performs at West Cork Chamber Music Festival

Ailish Tynan features in two recitals at the West Cork Chamber Musci Festival. In the first she performs Schubert's Shepherd on the Rock  with Joseph Middleton and Julian Bliss. In the second, again with Joseph Middleton, she performs an American themed programme, including Copeland's Twelve Poems of Emily Dickinson and a selection of Barber's Hermit Songs.
