Owen Gilhooly performs the Sun in the world premiere of John O'Brien's The Nightingale and the Roseinspired by Oscar Wilde’s timeless story. The production is directed by John O'Brien and directed by Anna Tilbrook. 

Performances take place on tour from 13 to 27 October 2018.

Owen Gilhooly performs Jenkins' The Armed Man

Owen Gilhooly performs Jenkins The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra at the National Concert Hall on 3 February.

He joins the Dun Laoghaire Choral Society, Cor Mhaigheo and mezzo-soprano Anne Marie Gibbons, for the concert conducted by David Brophy.

Owen Gilhooly performs Handel's Messiah with the Irish Baroque Orchestra at venues across Ireland from 8 - 10 December, lead by their director Monica Huggett and the Resurgam Choir.

Owen Gilhooly performs in Carmen at the National Concert Hall

Owen Gilhooly performs in Le Remendado in Carmen in Dublin for Lyric Opera. The new production is directed by Vivan Coates and conducted by Anthony Negus.

Performances take place at the National Concert Hall in Dublin on 15, 16, 18 October.

Owen Gilhooly performs the Mozart Requiem

As part of the commemorations of the 1916 Easter Rising, Owen Gilhooly performs the Mozart Requiem with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and Chamber Choir Ireland, conducted by John Wilson.

The concert takes place at mid-day on 28 March and will be broadcast live RTÉ lyric fm.

Owen Gilhooly and Philip Smith join Oxford Harmonic Choir for Antonín Dvořák's The Spectre's Bride. The performance takes place on 16 March at the Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford, and is conducted by Robert Secret.

Owen Gilhooly performs Midday Music at West Green House

Owen Gilhooly performs in Midday Music at West Green House alongside acclaimed British soprano Cheryl Enever. The performance on 25 June takes place at the Lakeside Pavilion in the Gardens of West Green House.

The programme includes popular highlights from Don Giovanni and La traviata, alongside operetta and music theatre. Devised by Blind Tiger Productions, the concert is directed by Lindy Tennent-Brown and accompanied by James Longford.

Owen Gilhooly makes his tenor debut in Rigoletto

Owen Gilhooly makes his tenor debut with the Opera Theatre Company as Borsa in their new production of Rigoletto, directed by Selina Cartmell and conducted by Fergus Sheil.

The production opens on 15 May at the National Opera House in Wexford and runs until 30 May where the final performance takes place in Limerick.

New CD release featuring Ailish Tynan & Owen Gilhooly

Ailish Tynan & Owen Gilhooly feature in a CD release of Judith Weir's opera The Vanishing Bridegroom. The recording is taken from a live perfomance at the Barbican Concert Hall in January 2008 with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Singers and is conducted by Martyn Brabbins.

The release of this recording was made possible by NMC’s 25th anniversary Opera Appeal and is produced in association with BBC Radio 3.
