Looking forward to Welsh National Opera's 2019/20 season

With rehearsals for Welsh National Opera's only a few weeks away we are delighted to have several artists working on these productions.

Robyn Lyn Evans and Wyn Pencarreg appear in the third opera in David Pountney's Verdi trilogy, Les vêpres siciliennes, Robyn performs Daniéli and Mainfroid, whilst covering Henri, and Wyn performs Le Sire de Béthune.

Additionally, covers include Robyn as Il Duca and Claire Wild as Gilda in Rigoletto, with Wyn covering Escamillo in Carmen and Harašta in The Cunning Little Vixen.

A trio of artists perform in WNO's Roberto Devereux

Robyn Lyn Evans, Wyn Pencarreg and Philip Smith perform in Welsh National Opera's production of Roberto Devereux, directed by Alessandro Talevi and conducted by Carlo Rizzi and James Southall.

Robyn performs Lord Cecil, while understudying the title role, Wyn performs Sir Gualtiero Raleigh, and Philip makes his WNO debut as Nottingham's Confidant, while understudying Raleigh.

Performances take place from 28 February at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, before touring until 10 May.

Robyn Lyn Evan performs at the Last Night of the Christmas Proms

Robyn Lyn Evans performs at the Last Night of the Christmas Proms for Raymond Gubbay at Symphony Hall, Birmingham, on 27 December. The programme includes popular arias and duets including O soave fanciulla and Nessun Dorma, as well as well known orchestral pieces.

For this concert Robyn is joined by soprano, Sky Ingram and the London Concert Orchestra, conducted by John Pryce Jones.

Sarah Redgwick and Robyn Lyn Evans perform with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

Sarah Redgwick and Robyn Lyn Evans join the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by John Rigby, for an evening of popular classics. The 100th anniversary of the end of World War 1 will also be marked with musical performances on the night. There will also be a spectacular fireworks grand finale.

The free concert takes place on 19 August at Newham Central Park.

Performances take place on 26 and 28 July.

Robyn Lyn Evans performs with the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera

Robyn Lyn Evans performs Summer Opera Classics with the Orchestra and Men's Chorus of Welsh National Opera, conducted by James Southall and Andrew Greenwood.

Performances take place at The Hafren (18 May), Theatr Clwyd (26 June), Pontio Bangor (28 June) and the Great Hall, Swansea (1 July).

Llio Evans and Robyn Lyn Evans perform new arias for Music Theatre Wales

Llio Evans and Robyn Lyn Evans perform in the Make an Aria public masterclass for Music Theatre Wales, on 11 May at te Unversity of Bangor.

Make an Aria is part of Music Theatre Wales’ artist development programme, which introduces composers and writers to the process of writing opera by inviting them to write a single aria. The arias are performed, with insights and feedback given to the composers.

Robyn Lyn Evans performs Lensky for Mid Wales Opera

Robyn Lyn Evans performs Lensky in  a new production of Eugene Onegin for Mid Wales Opera, directed by, Richard Studer and conducted by Jonathan Lyness, with Ensemble Cymru.

The first performance takes place on 24 February in The Hafren in Newtown, before touring until 10 April.

Robyn Lyn Evans performs in a new predominantly Welsh opera!

Robyn Lyn Evans joins Opra Cymru as Ifan Powel in Wythnos yng Nghymru Fydd a new opera by Gareth Glyn and Mererid Hopwood that is written predominatly in Welsh. The production is conducted by Iwan Teifion Davies and directed by Patrick Young.

The premiere on 10 November will take place at Pontio, Bangor before touring venues across Wales.

Robyn Lyn Evans performs Carvaradossi for Opera Project

Robyn Lyn Evans performs his first Carvaradossi in Opera Project's new production of Tosca  at the Tobacco Factory Theatre in Bristol.

The production is conducted by Jonathan Lyness and directed by Richard Studer, and runs from 27 September until 14 October.

A trio of new artists join SSArtists

We are delighted to welcome three new artists to our roster.

Soprano Llio Evans gained a first class honours degree at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama before going on to study with Dennis O'Neill at the Wales International Academy of Voice. Future engagements include her English National Opera debut as Celia in Iolanthe, Janaček Danube Symphony with BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and a revival of her critically acclaimed production of The Golden Dragon with Music Theatre Wales.

Tenor Robyn Lyn Evans is a postgraduate of the Royal College of Music, London and graduate of Trinity College Carmarthen and recipient of the Stuart Burrows Bursary. Future engagements include role debuts as Cavaradossi Tosca for Opera Project and Lensky Eugene Onegin for Mid Wales Opera. He will also make further appearances as Rodolfo for Diva Opera.

Bass-Baritone Joseph Padfield graduated with distinction from the Opera Course of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2014. He was an Alvarez Young Artist at Garsington Opera in 2012 & 2017, a Les Azuriales Young Artist in 2015 and is currently a recipient of the 2016-17 International Opera Awards Bursary Fund. Recent highlights include singing Golaud Pelléas et Mélisande for Garsington Opera, his return to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama as Ibn Hakia Iolanta and performances as Figaro Le nozze di Figaro and Guglielmo Cosi fan tutte for Diva Opera on tour in the UK, France and South Africa.

All are represented worldwide by SSArtists.
