Ailish Tynan CD release with the Britten Sinfonia

New Artist - Sarah Labiner

We are delighted to announce that American soprano Sarah Labiner has joined our roster for UK representation. Sarah studied at the North Carolina School of the Arts and is a graduate of the Royal College of Music and was a Watson Scholar. She continued her training on the English National Opera ‘Opera Works’ programme and is a Concordia Foundation artist. She has won multiple awards at the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition and was awarded a Dean’s Discretionary Grant through the North Carolina School of the Arts to study in Italy on the ‘Canta in Italia’ programme. 

Highlights in recent seasons include Jano Jenůfa and Fifteen-year-old Girl Lulu, both for English National Opera, Tytania A Midsummer Night’s Dream for ENO Baylis and Zerbinetta Ariadne auf Naxos as a guest artist for the A.J. Fletcher Opera Institute.

Gweneth Ann Rand performs at the Howard Assembly Room

Gweneth Ann Rand performs Messiaen's Harawi at Opera North's Howard Assembly Room in Leeds on 26 October, with long time collaborator, pianist, Simon Lepper.

Gweneth Ann is is widely noted as an exponent of the works of Messiaen and has performed them with the Gürzenich Orchester Köln, Tonhalle Orchester Zürich and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, at Wigmore Hall, the BBC Proms and at the Southbank Centre, in London, as part of the composer's centenary celebrations.

Miranda Westcott performs in Hansel and Gretel

Miranda Westcott performs Hansel in a new production of Hansel and Gretel at the Celebrate Voice Festival in Salisbury. The production is directed by David Edwards and conducted, from the pianist, by Phillip Thomas.

Performances take place on 21, 23, 25, 27, 29 October in the Medieval Hall, Salisbury.

Ailish Tynan performs at The Wellcome Collection

Ailish Tynan performs with Iain Burnside at the Wellcome Collection on 14 October, broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.

A live concert inspired by the vital musical thread running through Marcel Proust's life and his great novel of memory, 'In Search of Lost Time'. Simon Russell Beale reads from the novel, letters, poetry and other of Proust's writings, and music including Beethoven, Debussy, Reynaldo Hahn and Saint-Saëns.

New Artist - Anthony Flaum

We are delighted to announce that tenor Anthony Flaum has joined our roster for general management. Anthony is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and the National Opera Studio, in London. His studies were generously supported by English National Opera and the John Wates Foundation.

Highlights in recent seasons include his main stage debut at English National Opera as Borsa in Jonathan Miller's production of Rigoletto, Rodolfo La bohème for Iford Arts Festival, Turiddù Cavelleria Rusticana for Portsmouth Choral Society, Don José Carmen for Tonbridge Philharmonic Society and the title role in UC Opera's production of Verdi's Aroldo at the Theatre Royal Stratford East. 

In the current season Anthony will perform Lensky Eugene Onegin for OperaUpClose at the Arcola Theatre, Headstrong/Hermosa Tales of Offenbach for Opera Della Luna on tour and Tybalt Roméo et Juliette for Grange Park Opera. He will also understudy Bill in Jonathan Dove’s Flight for Scottish Opera.

Robyn Lyn Evans performs his first Carvaradossi in Opera Project's new production of Tosca  at the Tobacco Factory Theatre in Bristol.

The production is conducted by Jonathan Lyness and directed by Richard Studer, and runs from 27 September until 14 October.

Claire Wild performs in Khovanshchina for WNO

Claire Wild returns to Welsh National Opera as Emma in Mussorgsky's epic opera, Khovanshchina, which opens their 2017/18 season. The production is directed by David Pountney and conducted by Tomáš Hanus.

Performances take place from 23 September in Cardiff, Birmingham and Llandudno.

Llio Evans perfoms in The Golden Dragon

Llio Evans perfoms The Little One in the revival of Music Theatre Wales' acclaimed production of The Golden Dragon by Peter Eötvös. She created the role in the UK premiere and also performed it at the Tongyeong International Music Festival in South Korea in 2016.

The production, conducted by Geoffrey Patterson and directed by Michael McCarthy, tours the UK fro 22 September to 31 October.

Peter Selwyn conducts Walton and Haydn

Peter Selwyn returns to the Internationales Kammermusikfestival Nürnberg, where he is Co-artistic director, to conduct concerts on 16 and 17 September.

The repertoire includes Walton Facade, Ives The Unanswered Question and HaydnTrumpet Concerto.

Jeni Bern performs Aunt Norris in Mansfield Park at The Grange Festival. The production, newly orchestrated by Jonathan Dove, is conducted by David Parry and directed by Martin Lloyd-Evans. 

Performances take place on 16 and 17 September.

Harry Nicoll perfoms in Die Zauberflöte for The Royal Opera

Harry Nicoll returns to The Royal Opera this autumn as Erster Priester in David McVicar’s classic production Die Zauberflöte. This revival is directed by Thomas Guthrie and conducted by Julia Jones.

Performances take place on 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23, 26 September.

Ailish Tynan at the BBC Proms

Ailish Tynan appears at Proms in the Park Scotland for the BBC as part of the Last Night of the Proms celebrations around the UK. 

She will perform with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Stephen Bell. Also appearing are Jason Manford, Karen Matheson and Claire Teal, with BBC Radio Scotland presenter Jamie MacDougall.

The first part of Proms in the Park Scotland will be broadcast live on BBC2 Scotland, with a complete broadcast on BBC Radio Scotland.

Wyn Pencarreg performs in the Royal Opera's new production of La bohème

Wyn Pencarreg performs Alcindoro in Richard Jones' new production of La bohème at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. The long awaited production with designs by Stewart Laing, is conducted by Sir Antonio Pappano.

The premiere takes place on 11 September with a further twenty four performances through the season.

Jeni Bern performs with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

Jeni Bern performs in A Night at the Opera with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Marina Theatre in Lowestoft. She is joined by tenor Alexander James Edwards and the orchestra is conducted by John Rigby.

Jeni will perform excerpts from La bohème, La traviata, Il barbiere di Siviglia, The Merry Widow and Gounod's Faust. 

The concert takes place of Friday 1 September.

Ailish Tynan performs Mahler in Dresden

Ailish Tynan performs Una poenitentium in Mahler's Eighth Symphony with the Dresden Philharmonie at the new concert hall at the Kulturpalast in Dresden. 

The performances on 25 and 27 August mark the opening of the 2017/18 season, and are conducted by the orchestra's Principal Conductor, Michael Sanderling.

Grenfell Tower Benefit Concert

In the wake of the terrible fire at Grenfell Tower, Nazan Fikret, with support and generous assistance from Cadogan Hall, the Royal Opera House, Garsington Opera, Opera magazine, the International Opera Awards and leading arts professionals, has rallied fellow performers to organise a concert to raise funds for those affected.

The concert on at Cadogan Hall on 17 September, presented by Petroc Trelawny, will feature a sensational line-up of both established and up-and-coming artists. This is a one-off event and everyone involved has given their services for free.

All funds raised will be distributed equally between Rugby Portobello Trust (Charity No 1100143) and Grief Encounter (Charity No 1101277) which focus specifically on helping the affected families with rehabilitation and looking to the future.
